There is SO much happening around the country this Easter weekend, it’s hard to pick and choose! But we have whittled it all down and bring you what we feel are a few of the best.

Cork.

SPRING EASTER TRAIL

Fota House & Gardens have really gone all out this year with their Easter Trail. Taking place on the 30th and 31st March, for just €8 per child your little ones can follow the woodland trail to discover hidden treasures and claim their Cadburys egg prize at the end.

When you’ve finished the hunt, there are artisan food tents serving up delicious treats or you can enjoy lunch at the newly opened Bakestone Cafe. There will also be vintage swing boats, a 1950’s carousel and a 1970’s ice cream van. And of course don’t forget the beautiful gardens to be enjoyed as well. A fantastic family day out! Kilkenny

The Castlecomer Discovery Park are running their Easter Woodland Hunt for the duration of the Easter holidays at €10 per child. Follow the trail through acres of beautiful woodlands to the magical elf and fairy village. Once you’ve collected all your clues, claim your prize at the end!

On 31st March, there will be wood turners, knitters and felters, to name but a few, celebrating their crafts and the natural world in the ‘quirky event domes’ which will be pitched at the elf and fairy village. An informative and free event for all the family to enjoy.

And of course there is all the other activities that the Discovery Park has to offer such as their tree top walk, the zipwire, archery and so much more! Check out their website for more info.

 

Wexford

Wells House in Gorey kicks off it’s weekend of Easter fun on 31st March with the Easter Puppet Shows by The Red Moon Theatre. Watch as the puppets ‘go on an eggciting adventure!’. Costing €5 with a running time of approx. 45 mins, the shows run from 1pm to 4pm.

The big event takes place on Sunday 1st April, promising to be bigger and better than ever! Enjoy the Easter egg hunt with the Wells Easter Bunny for €5 per child. With live music and a BBQ on the terrace it promises to be a fun family day out. See the website for more details.

 

Limerick

Magic shows, Trad bands, food trucks, entertainers, a massive prize draw, Captain Jack and an Easter egg hunt with over 10,000 eggs!! It’s promising to be an amazing weekend in Limerick from the 29th to the 31st at the FREE festival taking place at the Milk Market and Corcanree Business park.

And if that’s not enough to entertain you, then bounce on over to St John’s Castle on Easter Sunday for a day packed full of fun and adventure including the Wobbly Circus Show, a 52 foot crocodile, fairytale stilt walkers, Gers amazing animal farm, the Easter bonnet competition and the Easter parade. Tickets are only available online, so hop to it and book!

 

Dublin

And finally, for an Easter Sunday with a bit of a difference why not attend the Mad Hatters Tea Party at Deerpark, Mount Merrion? From 1pm to 5pm there will be lots of kids activities, a tea cup ride, giant chess, croquet, balloons, make-and-do for the smallies and a storyteller telling the wonderful tale of Alice In Wonderland.

Come dressed in your maddest hat and take a strut down the ‘hat walk’. Follow the new Easter trail across Deerpark to win one of the treats left by the Easter Bunny. With loads to do, this fantastic event is free!
