Being a manly man, I tend to eat my bean stew out of a bucket with a shovel, in a forest, standing with one foot on the stump of the tree I’ve just cut down whilst holding down a bear with my other foot.

Or you can enjoy this curled up on your couch in the comfort of your own home.

Either way, enjoy!

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

1 small onion

1 bell pepper

1 tin chopped tomatoes

2 tins mixed beans

3-4 drops tabasco sauce

2 tbsp black treacle

3 tbsp tomato sauce

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Olive oil/rapeseed oil

Method:

Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a deep pan.

Chop the onion and fry until soft.

Drain and rinse the beans and chop the pepper.

Just pour everything into the saucepan, stir it up.

Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes so everything is cooked through.

Serve with some fluffy white rice.

This is one of those dishes that just gets better with time, so make sure to leave some for tomorrow!
